Database Administrator
Monitor the databases and define procedures for day-to-day operations of the database, including the coordination and installation of application upgrades and modifications. Perform routine maintenance on all databases. Coordinate periodic database maintenance with the system administrator. Define procedures for performing database performance analysis and tuning for production databases. Perform initial analysis and recommend improvements to R&D and application support. Create methods of tracking rates of growth and to ensure the database is operating at peak performance. Change storage requirements including software solutions as well as hardware for data growth. Install and upgrade database software. Evaluate and perform testing of new versions, features and releases of database software. Work on database backup and recovery and develop recovery procedures. Work with the systems administrator to see that proper user access and levels of access are maintained. Define and adhere to standards as they pertain to managing databases. Develop database changes via scripts. Work on RAC and ASM, building and supporting 11GR2 and 12C RAC clusters using ASM storage, and upgrading GRID infrastructure from 11g to 12c. Install Oracle RDBMS software on new node of cluster and create ASM Volume using ASMCA and ACFS for GoldenGate 12c. Configure SLA for Query’s accessing standby database and manage Active Dataguard. Partition disks from Exadata Storage. Telecommuting is permitted.
